PRODUCTION TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT – OLIVER! MAY 2017
We are pleased to announce that the Production Team for Oliver has now been decided. This year we are to have Joint Directors, Lisa Summers and Laura Catterall. They will be joined by Ron Creasey as Musical Director and Margaret Rowland and Dot Mutch as Pianists. There are still other roles to be decided on and further information will be given once these roles have been allocated.
Laura and Lisa are delighted to be given the opportunity to direct Oliver! and have said that they will do their very best to make it a successful production. They have already been making early plans for first rehearsals and auditions and are hoping to continue with the positive attitude and friendly atmosphere that 9 to 5 delivered.
Information evenings for both children and adults will be held in December and more information on these will be available soon.
WANTED – PRODUCTION TEAM – OLIVER 2017!!
We are proud to announce that our show for 2017 will be Lionel Bart’s OLIVER! which will be on stage at the Maltings in Berwick from 3rd to 7th May 2017 (including a Saturday and a Sunday matinee).
OLIVER! is a well-known family musical with great parts for children and adults. Bart’s musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’s classic novel Oliver Twist tells the story of young orphan Oliver as he travels through the dark underbelly of London society. The musical score features many famous numbers including Consider Yourself, Food Glorious Food, As Long As He Needs Me and It’s A Fine Life.
If you are interested in being part of the team in any way the Executive Committee would like to hear from you. If you would like any further information regarding the positions please get in touch with myself or our acting Secretary Laura Catterall, and we will gladly give you more of an insight as to what is expected.
The production team consists of: Director; Musical Director; Choreographer; other roles include Accompanists; Stage Manager/Stage Crew; Properties; Wardrobe; Make-up; Front of House and many more supporting roles.
We would like to have a Director in place as soon as possible, so if you are interested in directing please contact me giving some idea of how you see the show being staged and your role in the production. If potential directors would like to see a copy of the libretto/vocal book let me know and we can arrange this.
Please contact me via the Opera’s email, website or Facebook page to express your interest in any of these roles by Friday 3rd June 2016. Of course, the committee must reserve the right to approach potential post-fillers if no-one suitable puts their name forward. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely
Denise Clarke
President
